Veteran Seattle director Gregg Lachow presents THE UNCERTAIN DETECTIVE
Gregg Lachow, veteran indie film director (MONEY BUYS HAPPINESS) and producer (Lynn Shelton's WE GO WAY BACK, Guy Maddin's BRAND UPON THE BRAIN!) is back with a new scripted series.
In THE UNCERTAIN DETECTIVE, art imitates life and life imitates art. A film director (played by Lachow) creates a surreal, neo-noir tv series featuring a bumbling detective, and casts his wife and kids in it (played by Lachow's actual family).
In the show, as in their lives, each character tries to solve the central mystery of life: in a world that seems to be falling apart, where is the love that binds us together? The second season begins releasing episodes October 4.
Gregg Lachow's films have premiered at festivals around the world, and he has been honored with film retrospectives at the Portland Art Museum, the American Cinematheque in Los Angeles, and the Pioneer Theatre in NYC.
Gregg is the founder of the non-profit film studio The Film Company, which commissioned and produced numerous films, including Lynn Shelton's first feature, WE GO WAY BACK, and Guy Maddin's BRAND UPON THE BRAIN!, cited by the NY Times' Manola Darghis as one of the top ten films of the year, and now included in the Criterion Collection.
Lachow is a serial creator of collaborative arts ventures, including The Late Night Club, which ran for six years at Seattle's New City Theater; The Belltown Coliseum, a storefront performance space/gallery in downtown Seattle; Run/Remain, a performance group that interweaves theater, dance, film, and live music and has toured numerous pieces in the US and Europe.
THE UNCERTAIN DETECTIVE is a blend of whimsical humor, modern family relationships, and old-school time travel.
